In these uncertain times there is one thing we can be certain of, KPort Park & Rec is planning to provide a great summer for local children!
As always, our number one priority is the safety and well being of your child. Last summer, while we weren’t able to provide our traditional Summer Camp, we successfully offered several mini camps as well as our teen programs. In addition, our School Year Child Care Program has operated successfully maintaining a balance between safety concerns and youth engagement! With these experiences and the increasing amount of information about the corona virus, we are confident in our ability to offer a safe and fun Summer Camp experience.
With all the recent snow, summer may seem far away, but we are already hard at work planning our programs and developing training and resources to properly equip our staff for this summer.
We have identified some important changes to our typical procedures to help us maximize the safety of our campers and staff. Following the CDC's guidelines and best practices, we will be capping the number of registrations at 65 and campers will be placed in small groups that they will stay with all summer. We will be following the newest information from Maine CDC and updating our practices and policies, but for now to maintain consistency in group numbers and attendance we are currently opening registration for only the Super Package. More flexible options may be offered in the future if space allows.
Because we will be taking less children this year we are announcing our Summer Camp plans a little earlier than normal and asking that you please register for the Summer Day Camp Program as soon as you know you are interested.
In an effort to ensure no one is denied access to a program due to inability to pay, guardians can apply for limited scholarship funds, siblings take advantage of discounted rates, and payment plans are available for the Summer Day Camp. If you need or want a payment plan, know that we understand the uncertainty. Final payments are due by July 15th so please complete the form and initiate payments as soon as possible.
Please do not hesitate to contact us by email or by calling 967-4304. We are here to serve you!
