Chalkfest is a FREE, family-friendly event in the tradition of European 16th century street painting. Artists will transform the dull pavement of The Recreation Department parking lot into a colorful canvas. Watch as nationally-featured (September 13 & 14) and local (September 14 only) artists create colorful masterpieces using only chalk!
A Color Run will kick off the festivities on Saturday. Prior to the run, registrants will be given a white festival shirt to get colorful on their trot. While on the trail, runners will pass through various stations where volunteers will throw cornstarch based chalk at them. Following the run will be a pancake breakfast.
Afterwards, enjoy 3D and other forms of Chalk Art. Lobster Rolls, Clam Chowder, Hot Dogs, and Concessions will be available for purchase. Don't miss the live bands and Luminaries highlighting the Chalk Art at dusk.
