Mt. Washington Weather Station Tour

On this trip, you will be whisked away from Kennebunkport and brought to the top of Mt. Washington's 6,288-foot summit. On the way up we will be riding with one of Mt. Washington Auto Road's experienced van drivers who will offer stories, legends, history, and ecological insight to this beautiful place.
Once we reach the top, we will be given a behind the scenes tour of the famous mountaintop weather station and get a taste for what it's like to live and work at 6,288 feet! With this tour, we will meet and interact with Mt. Washington's Weather Station Scientists, learn how they create forecasts, see the instruments they use to capture Mount Washington's legendary extremes, and more.
Before we head home, we will stop in North Conway for a late lunch and a little shopping. Lunch expense is on your own.
When: August 9th, 2019. Please meet at the Rec building at 8:30am. We will return at approximately 6:30pm.

8:30-11:00am-Drive to Mt. Washington Auto Road
11:15-1:15pm-Auto Road tour and Weather Station Tour at the top
1:15pm-2:00-Enjoy the scenery as we drive to North Conway
2:00pm-4:00pm-Lunch and shopping in North Conway
4:00pm-6:30pm-Return to the Rec building
