Kennebunkport Police Cadet Camp-- Participants will have the opportunity to train with local police officers and other law enforcement to give them a “behind the scenes” look at how law enforcement operates and what steps are taken to become a police officer. Program participants will learn about the different techniques law enforcement use daily while also physically training with officers as they continue to keep their bodies in shape. Scheduled activities include touring a police cruiser/explanation of gear, presentations by state and local law enforcement agencies, traffic stops and use of RADAR/LIDAR, CID investigations and fingerprinting, and a K-9 presentation. Cadets are expected follow the directions of program officers for their safety and the safety of other participants at all times. Program participants will be expected to be polite, respectful, and ready to learn. Teasing, fighting, swearing, or disrespectful behavior of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in penalty or even dismissal from the program.
