Specialty Camp- Adventures with the Conservation Trust

Adventures with the Conservation Trust-- This program will consist of  2 land/woods focused days and 2 shore/water (tide dependent) focused days.  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday

Monday: Island Exploration & Island Bingo; wade out to an island (Vaughn or Stage) for an island exploration. Island Bingo will guide kids to wander around the terrestrial and marine habitats and find various plants, critters, or landscape formations. After wading back from the island exploration,  we will play various “ecosystem” games until departure.

Tuesday: Trail Hike and Trail Games; we are taking a hike and letting the kids take the lead! We will learn and practice how to read a map, GPS, and a compass. Partners will be given either a compass, paper map, or GPS so they can “lead the way” along the trail. Throughout the walk we will stop to examine the interesting things they discover.

Wednesday: Tidepools, Mudflats, or River Exploration; This day will be weather and tidal dependent. Wherever we end up going though, it is bound to be a blast when working with the Conservation Trust!

Friday: Survivor; You’ve been exploring the outdoors all week long, now it’s time to put your skills to the test in this game of Survivor! The group will be split into 2-3 Tribes to compete in 3-5 challenges for survivor beads. At the end of each challenge, the winning Tribe will gain a bead and both Tribes will vote for their MVP of the round. Whoever has the most beads at the end of the game is the Survivor! Game play on the Emmons  Preserve. 

When: 7/8-7/12 (Thursday camp field trip may be added for extra $)
