Outdoor Adventure Summer 2019

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Outdoor Adventure uses the outdoors as a tool to fill the participants early teenage years with fun and adventure! The outdoor environment provides a supportive, non judgemental area in which campers can challenge themselves physically and emotionally while having the support of caring adults and their peers. OA is designed to help campers gain a deeper awareness of themselves and build solid relationships with others. Through these experiences, campers will increase their confidence, self-esteem, awareness of self, others, and the outdoors as well as valuable communication, problem solving, leadership, and conflict resolution skills that they will have for life.

There will be three different options to choose from this year in Outdoor Adventure! That's more adventure for those entering 7th-9th grade squeezed into eight weeks!

Adventure Package: Join us Mon-Wed to bike, hike, swim, tube, kayak, paddle board, surf, explore, and more!!

NOTE: For our midsummer camping trip we will be camping overnight at Peaks Kinney State Park in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine as well as hiking Mt. Kineo and hiking/swimming at Gulf Hagas!

The last week of OA we will be going on our traditional Whitewater Rafting trip with Adventure Bound in Caratunk, Maine!

Adventure Plus Package: Join us Mon-Wed for Outdoor Adventures plus a field trip on Thursday with Summer Camp!

Adventure Plus Leadership Package: Join us Mon-Wed for Outdoor Adventures, plus Thurs for the field trip, AND Fri for Outdoor Leadership Camp.

What is Outdoor Leadership you ask?
Being in a safe and supportive community can help a student develop confidence by exploring their own strengths and individual leadership voice. These leadership skills can transfer into 3 different areas: self, peer, and leadership within their community. Campers will have the opportunity to practice the skills they are developing in a hands-on way on Fridays at KPort summer day camp. Staff will be there to support them in a debrief afterwards to reflect on what they learned about themselves and being a leader.

See the calendar attached below. Trips are subject to change.

We will have a pre summer parents meeting to provide more detail and answer any questions.
