Join us after school on Mondays or Wednesdays to learn how fun and easy cooking can be! Make delicious recipes in a hands-on, safe, and fun environment, and taste everything along the way. Your child will walk away with fun memories and some very valuable life skills such as:
Age appropriate cooking skills
Food and kitchen safety
How to make healthier options of kid favorites and be a little creative along the way
How to incorporate fresh food and herbs into their cooking
Learn recipes that they can use at home
Proper kitchen clean-up
This session will be split up into two different classes:
1. Grades 2-3 will meet on Monday afternoons
2. Grades 4-5 will meet on Wednesday afternoons
Every child will get to decorate and keep their very own kitchen apron as well as bring home a binder of all the recipes that we tried!!
- Dates for this program are March 4th-April 8th
- NOTE FOR GRADES 4&5: On an Early Release Week, your session will be held on a FRIDAY
- Cost is $90 per child for all six weeks
We only have room for 8 kids to participate so register SOON!
*Participants in this program will be exposed to food allergens that include gluten and dairy products. If your child has a food allergy but would still like to participate, please contact the Rec office and we can discuss some alternatives.
Schedule of Events
Week 1: Introduction-(kitchen safety, food prep and measuring, decorate aprons)-second timers will have a separate activity.
Week 2: Spaghetti Nests (how to read a recipe card)
Week 3:Taco Salad Bowls (knife safety)
Week 4: Oven Barbecued Ribs with homemade bbq sauce
Week 5: Grilled Pizza Skewers
Week 6: Kids pick
